Magical Realism in California

Night passes, golden rays aglow, waking up to orange-lavender birds of paradise stretching out to the sky, waking up to this lovely bronze woman who drags her fingers across my skin. Dearest morning, glistening light, open my eyes, to sweet sunrise, and I’m complete… she’s here in my arms. I kiss her neck, she bites my ear, and together, we make love, as the sun burns through an early morning haze.

An Imperfect Garden

Guided across the equator by my heart, passing from one hemisphere to the next, I am met by a woman of the jungle. She takes my hand gently and blows a powder up my nose which races like a fire through my cerebrum and drops down my spine. As she does so, she tells me, that the medicines of the forest are powerful, good, but not easy, for they bite.

Starlit Ramblings

Have you ever fallen so far from grace that you thought, surely, I’ve wandered to the dark side… and I may never come back. The darkside, the place where meaning has turned back in on itself. Where clarity is only found in obscurity, where morals, ethics and justice appear as shadows on the wall. I find myself there now and it feels as though I might as well be up on the moon… me drifting… long lost… boy on the moon.
